Linen Stitch Infinity Crochet Cowl Pattern

Give your neck a hug with the Red Heart Unforgettable yarn using this Linen Stitch Infinity Cowl pattern. Designed by me to design something that personally bugs me a lot. When a cowl or scarf catches in the zipper or looks bulky under the jacket. I know, first-world problems.

This infinity is tight fitting so it wraps snugly around the neck with the twist. With my jacket up without having to do the zipper to the top, it blocks the wind and cold from my neck.

This is designed at 11" diameter and 9" wide. The infinity twist creates an elastic motion to the cowl to keep it snug to your body. When the jacket is opened, you can see that it doesn't droop lower than it should.

You will use 1 ball full of Red Heart Unforgettable yarn. The colour used was called Gossamer.

    Instructions

The instructions match the crochet diagram provided in the download.

To change the size of this cowl, chain in an odd number count.

Ch 111. Careful not to twist the chain, sl st through the beg ch to form a ring.

1st rnd: (Step 1): Ch 1. 1 sc in first ch. *Sk next ch, ch 1, 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * around. DO NOT join.

Flip the beginning of the previous round over 180 degrees so the botton of the original chain is on the top side.

2nd rnd: (Step 2): *Ch 1, sk next sc, 1 sc in space between sc. Rep from * around until the 2nd last ch.  Do not join.

The entire up and down portion of the infinity twist is now complete.

3rd rnd: (Step 3) Ch 1. Sk the last ch and next sc, 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. *Ch 1, sk next sc, 1 sc in ch-1 sp. Rep from * around as many times as you want. The sample stops when the thickness is 9”.

Finishing Up: [Ch 1. Sk next sc, 1 sl st in next ch-1 sp.] twice. Fasten off.
