Crochet Hugs & Kisses Hexagon Quilt Blanket
It's true, I love Caron Big Cakes the most! I cannot get enough of them. This particular colorway, Cherry Cake, was really calling to me. I finally figured out why. When I was a child, I had a handmade quilt with the same colours, all bordered in white. I think it was probably a scrap quilt as all of the colours were random. So that was the inspiration behind the Crochet Hugs and Kisses Hexagon Quilt Blanket Pattern.
So I decided to incorporate the Hugs & Kisses design into a random-looking, quilt-style afghan using this yarn. Nothing was planned here. I just let the beautiful self-striping yarn flow. I bordered each hexagon in white to tie everything together.
If you choose to use Caron Big Cakes as I have, you will get 11 hexagons from a ball of yarn. So if you want to make a bigger size blanket, it's easy to plan out. Also, you can plan your colours with any yarn you wish, but I would suggest continuing to border each hexagon with the same colour.

I just whipped the hexagons together with the front sides together and in the back loop only. You can use your favorite joining method.
One Caron Big Cake makes 11 hexagons.

Thanks for posting this blanket. I’m still a beginner at crocheting but I’d like to attempt this. I just made a sample with my practice yarn. I’d like to make this using mandala yarn which is weighted #3. Will I need to adjust anything? What difference will there be?
Thanks for your help.
Mikey says
You can still use that. Use the suggested yarn on the ball band. The project will be much smaller if you are downgrading to a #3 weight yarn.

Hi all!!!! I'm in desperate need of a video of the hugs and kisses hexagon quilt. I keep messing up, but I guess that's good because I am learning what I'm doing wrong. But a video for this would be amazing! It is beautiful!

Thank you. I'm pretty proud of myself! I just kept on crocheting and frogging until I got it right!!! It took quite a while, but I did it without a video!! And I honestly think it is one of my best projects!!!! I'm definitely going to make a few of these for friends as well

Mikey said he would like to see a photo of our work when we do one of his Stitch alongs.
I think I saw his request to send a pic of the mandala Afghan to be sent before February 20th.
now that I'm finished I can't find that request which had the address to send it to.
Can anyone help me?
Marina King says
I do remember the post I am looking to try to find it again for you.
