Stitch Along: Free Crochet Octavia the Octopus Pattern + Tutorials

    Sharing is caring!

    • Email

Crochet your own Amigurumi Octopus. This octopus is about 7" tall and is dying to wrap her tentacles around someone with love. This is using Lily Sugarn Cream yarn.

It's a pretty easy pattern to work step-by-step and check off the instructions as you do it.

Originally, Octavia had only 7 legs, but it was updated in 2021 to change the pattern slightly so she has 8 legs. She probably just grew and got an extra leg or something.

The stitch-along is in 3 parts. Head / Body as part 1. Underside is part 2. Finishing and assembling is part 3.

Octopuses are sometimes used in preemie situations where an octopus is put with the tubes and stuff that the baby may see.

As soon as I saw this pattern, I asked, "OMG, how sweet is she?" I want to crochet her up. I love the eyes and the shaping of the head.

Her best friend has been done in purple, and you can see that version on the pattern itself.

I think the pattern needs to be re-done, there seems to be some missing rounds; round 11 is missing and round 9...? I havent worked on this yet

If you look at the instructions. The same instruction is stated.

7th and alt rnds: Ch 1. 1 sc in each
sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.

Means round 9 and 11 is the alt rounds. Hopefully that helps you.

I just wanted to let everyone know, that I too was on my 4th tentacle and wanted to make sure I was going to have enough stitches for all. If you stitch into the last last hdc2tog stitch as your first hdc2tog you have enough space for another tentacle.
