Whether it be for your sofa to protect your surface or maybe something in the car to protect the upholstery, try the Crochet Doggy Comfort Blanket. Pattern includes sizing for a kitty cat too!
This is a simplistic textured stitch. I know you will appreciate the tight stitches. Nothing is worse than putting a pet together with a blanket where paws and stuff fall through the stitchwork.
I have included a human-size version of this blanket for those who enjoy the texture. I have also stated the multiple stitch counts if you want to change the size of the blanket to any size you wish.

Hi! I don't have access to Caron yarns, it it possible to use a different yarn type for this pattern? I only have either Red Heart or a few Bernat types? TIA
Mikey, The Crochet Crowd says
For sure... Use what you have access to.

When you start row 4 where do you put the SC in the 3rd chain or in the chain 3 space? It doesn't say in the pattern or the video.
Jeanne - The Crochet Crowd says
Row 4 starts the repeat, so you are actually following the directions for row 2. You chain 3, then sc into the next dc.
